St. Mary of Purification

Observes the Rosary

 IMG 5753

On October 12, 2019, Fr. Charles Ndumbi, S.V.D., and approximately 32 members of the St. Mary’s family gathered to pray the Rosary and sing Marian hymns at noon at the Grotto devoted to our Blessed Mother. This celebration of the Rosary was in honor of October, the month of the Holy Rosary, and in anticipation of the National Coast-to-Coast Rally for Rosary. Rallies have been encouraged throughout the United States to observe the 102nd Anniversary of the Fatima Miracle of the Sun, October 13th.

Lo, the day is coming, blazing like an oven,

when all the proud and all evildoers will be stubble,

and the day that is coming will set them on fire,

leaving them neither root nor branch,

 says the LORD of hosts.

But for you who fear my name, there will arise

the sun of justice with its healing rays.

SAINT OF THE MONTH - St. Frances Xavier Cabrini

In November, in a spirit of thanksgiving, we are grateful for the work of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, known as "Mother Cabrini" (1850-1917), an Italian-American religious sister who founded a religious community that supported immigrants in the U.S. Born in what is now northern Italy, Cabrini became a religious sister in the 1870's, took the name "Xavier" to honor the Jesuit saint and patron of missionary service, and was asked to serve the people of the United States, in particular, the many immigrants who were arriving in the country at the time. She is the patron saint of immigrants.
